Mid-Term Take-home Exam Solutions
Revised Syllabus for the Chemistry section. This is an interdisciplinary course taught at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels. Do not worry if you do not have an extensive background in one particular topic, since we will cover all necessary background material. Our emphasis is on developing your intuition and knowledge of techniques at the nanoscale so that you can propose and conduct original research in this field in the years to come. The lecturers are experts in their respective disciplines from UNM, Los Alamos National Laboratory, or Sandia National Laboratories. | ||||
The lecture on 10/19/06 was actually a mid-term exam review lead by Prof. Duncan
This class will become one of the four core courses in our new graduate degree program called Nanoscince and Microsystems.
Once this new degree program is approved, this course will be listed as NSMS 510.
Please do not drop this course without first discussing your concerns with Prof. Duncan.
The course is at a level which requires good skills with
algebra and trigonometry, and some introduction to the calculus.
We will introduce the scientific concepts as we go along, so an extensive background in science
and engineering is not required. This class will require about four to six hours of effort per week
out of class to study and prepare, but it will be exciting and intellectually engaging.
