Robert Eisberg and Robert Resnick Wiley, 2nd Edition Homework: Homework problems from Eisberg and Resnick will be assigned each week and due after class on Wednesdays. Solutions will be posted at: http://panda.unm.edu/Courses/Matthews/PHYS330 shortly after the homework "due date". Exams and grades: There will be two 90-minute midterms and a 2-hour final. The midterms will test mainly the recent material. The final will test all of the material but with an emphasis on the most recent sections. You are allowed one 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper into each midterm. These page(s) can contain relevant physics formulae, numerical constants, etc, of your choice. You may bring three 8 1/2" x 11" pieces of paper to the final. EXTRA CREDIT: 5% additional credit is available by office hour/homework participation: your participation in the "office hour/homework" sessions will help you and other students who attend. Full (5%) credit will be for those who contribute to at least 80% of the "office hour/homework sessions". The office hour/homework session is: Monday 5-7pm in P&A 190 The course grade will be comprised of: 25% homework, 25% for EACH of the two midterms and 25% for the final exam. The grades in the course will be: A 85 - 100 (Plus and B 65 - 84 minus grades will C 45 - 64 be assigned.) D 30 - 44 F below 30
