Homework Assignments XXXV - XXXIX, prior to the Final Exam
There is a homework assignment due (almost) every class period!
If on paper, they should be turned in at the alphabetically-labelled box
at the front of the classroom,
before
class begins!
If on WebAssign, they are due at or before 1 AM of the night after class!
Note that due dates are given in Spanish.
No. XXXV: due on lunes, 22 de abril
- There are no paper problems due this Monday.
- There are 4 WebAssign problems, concerning Newton's Law of
Gravitation.
They are due Monday night, late, as usual.
For solutions click right here,
after the assignment has been turned in.
No. XXXVI: due on miercoles, 24 de abril
- There is one paper problem due today:
- Chapter 14: Problem 24P.

For solutions click right here.
No. XXXVII: due on viernes, 26 de abril
- There is 1 paper problem due today, in class:
- Take Problem 53P in Chapter 14. However, instead of the two
stars in the binary-star system having equal masses, take one of them to
have its mass = 1 solar mass, i.e., the same as the mass of our sun, and the
other to have its mass = 9 solar masses.
- There are 4 quite simple WebAssign problems due tonight; however,
they are all from Chapter 15, on fluids.

No. XXXVIII: due on lunes, 29 de abril

No. XL: NOT Due
These are not yet assigned on WebAssign, but will be soon!
These are practice problems for the final exam. They have zero
point value, so that whatever you do on them will NOT count on your
homework score. They cover backward over the entire semester, and
will help as practice. They have 4 chances for you to input answers;
after that time, of course, WebAssign will tell you the answers, so
that you can know.
FINAL EXAM will be on Wednesday, 8 May,
at 10 AM
- Review sessions for the Final will occur on Thursday night, 2 May,
at 7 pm, on Friday morning, 3 May, at 8 am, on Sunday afternoon, 5 May,
at 1 pm, and on Monday night, at 7 pm.
All of these will occur in Room 114 of the usual building, where class
is held. There will be considerable overlap between the material
discussed.
-
It will cover the entire portion of the text that we have studied,
but will be divided as follows:
- approximately "two thirds"
on Chapters 1 through 12, with slightly more
emphasis than expected on conservation of energy,
- and the other "one third" on Chapters 14, and those parts of
Chapters 15, 16, and 17 that we discuss in class.
