Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

There are several items considered to be personal protective equipment. In general, a few of these items are:

Lab coat
Lab head covering
Gloves (Rubber, neoprene, plastic, etc.)
Goggles or safety eyeglasses

Face masks or breathing protective (inhalation) devices are not allowed at UNM unless you have been approved on an individual basis to wear a device. Go to the following link for full understanding of this policy. (NOT ALLOWED UNLESS-.-.-.-.- See this link)

Please check the MSDS sheet for the chemical you will be using to determine what PPE you should be wearing while working with the chemical.

DO NOT work with, or handle ANY chemical until you have the proper PPE and are wearing it!
