Chemical Responsibilities

Who is responsible for labeling containers when an item or any part thereof is moved from the original container to another container?

It is the responsibility of the employee who is transferring a chemical from one container to another to properly label it.

Who is responsible for maintaining the Chemical Inventory lists within each laboratory?

The person who is primarily responsible for, or is the primary instructor within a lab or room will be responsible for maintaining the list. Any person bringing chemicals into a room which are not on the list on the door, will be responsible for seeing that the list is updated and SHEA is notified of the addition. Gary Harrison is maintaining the original computer copies of these lists, and should be notified of the changes. He will then update the lists, print the new copy, post it, and notify SHEA on their required notification form.

Who tests eyewash stations periodically or should be notified in the event of malfunctioning or missing equipment such as this and/or Chemical spill kits?

Gary Harrison, 220-8036
