NEW MEXICO STATE LAW CONCERNING DUPLICATION OF KEYS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO
State Law, State of New Mexico, effective June 18, 1965:
"Section 1. CONSENT REQUIRED FOR KEY DUPLICATION. No person shall knowingly make or cause to be made any key or duplicate key for any building, laboratory, facility, room, dormitory, hall, or any other structure, or part thereof, owned or leased by the state, any political subdivision, or by the board of regents or any governing body of any college or university which is supported wholly or in part by the state, without the prior written consent of the state, political subdivision, board of regents, or other governing body."
"Section 2. PENALTY. Any person who violates section 1 of this act is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be imprisoned up to one year, or be subject to a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1000) or both."
