Final Exam

To be completed by the day and time scheduled for the final exam.

You will turn in a final written report and demonstrate a working LabVIEW VI capable of collecting, analyzing, and printing out the data from a standard lab test setup. Your final LabVIEW VI should collect Fowler-Nordheim data, create a  spreadsheet, calculate various values, plot and print the results. Your written report should defend the conclusions displayed by your plot of Current vs. Voltage.

Labs prior to the final exam week should provide you with the data necessary to determine your conclusion and therefore all the information you will need to construct a written report. The actual final working version of your LabVIEW program must be functional on final exam day. Each student will demonstrate their LabVIEW VI by connecting their nanoammeter to a standard test jig containing a FEEM tube and interface electronics which is in turn connected to a computer via a serial port. It is recommended that you not wait until final exam day to find out if your LabVIEW VI actual works. Grades for the final LabVIEW VI will be strongly weighted toward whether your VI performs all the required tasks and not so much on aesthetics. Calvin was not entirely wrong about the importance of a nice cover on written reports but there must also be a high quality report inside. Bats are not Bugs.
