Let's Get It Together

Over the course of your first semester you will attend this one hour seminar on Fridays that will help you prepare for the weeks ahead. You are expected to teach one or more of our laboratory classes and many of you have never taught before. This seminar is geared to provide you with the tools you will need to succeed. Having been a student for 16 or more years does not make you qualified to teach anymore than being a passenger in a car for 16 years qualifies you to drive. the good news is that given your ability to master physics you should be able to pick up the necessary skills quickly.

The second semester will be spent honing your newly acquired skills. You will be making presentations on relevent material as well as some of your own choosing. Mostly what this seminar offers is a chance to speak with your colleagues and to seek advice about the many challenges that your students will present you with.
