Abstract: | Gravitational waves (GWs) are a powerful probe of early cosmological history as they do not interact much from production to detection. Various sources in the early universe can generate GWs, each coming with its characteristic spectrum. In this talk, I will discuss the production of GWs from a first-order phase transition through the collision of bubble walls, propagation of sound waves, and turbulence within the plasma. I will then show how the spectrum of these GWs may shed light on a period of early matter domination. | |
